Transmission. Distance. Contact. Connection. Quarantine.
The outbreak of Covid19 and the ensuing pandemic has reminded me that humans are porous, vulnerable, and connected. Because much of the pandemic language emphasizes how desirable sterilization/social distancing is, and how undesirable transmission is, I wanted to think about how normal transmission is. We are leaky humans. What all do you transmit to whom, in what ways? Think about this for a moment; be exhaustive in your list. The webs of our contact and connection are incredible. I transmit knowledge, energy, language, love, money, images, oxygen, odors, noises. I receive varying versions of things and much more, in different ways from different people.
