Are you insane or are you sprouting?

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." -Albert Einstein

My blog title is silly, but it suggests an important truth: growth requires change and different approaches to old problems, ancient habits.

Here's the prompt:

What are you doing differently lately? What could you do differently?

Many of us are living in new ways due to the global health crisis. While being at home may feel stifling, it also affords us the opportunity to reflect on our habits. Free write about what you may be doing differently lately.

Although there are many things that you have likely been forced to do differently, is there anything you've chosen to do differently? Is there anything you would like to try doing differently?

Recently my indoor seed pots sprouted. Imagine my joy when I saw the tiny leaves pop through the soil surface! Their tender, arching shape and their tiny fragility aside, they are unabashed growth.

Oftentimes growth requires that we approach an aspect of our lives from a new angle, or that we get creative and try a new solution to something. This is in spite of the fact that we are creatures of habit. Which one are you: insane, or sprouting?
